Hrm… I’m surprised that there have been no donations/tickets-sold for the Cirq raffle. Makes me wonder if the paypal link is broken…
If you have tried and been denied, or tried and thought you were successful (but I don’t know about anyone), please email me at rick-at-internalmonoblog-dot-com so I can know where things are breaking. I unfortunately cannot test with my own paypal account or credit cards 🙁
I guess it’s possible that nobody wants the tickets or to participate in the raffle, but I’m holding out hope that it’s just a technical glitch 😉

After my LSD run this morning, I came home desiring pancakes. I didn’t really want to go out because all the store/restaurant pancakes are so… well.. gummy, bland and uninteresting. So Kim and I made Coconut-Quinoa Blueberry Pancakes. Oh my this is a keeper!
Coconut-Quinoa Blueberry Pancakes
- 1 cup quinoa (uncooked)
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1/4 cup rice flour
- 1/4 cup coconut shredded
- tablespoon baking powder
- teaspoon salt
- 3 tbsp grapeseed oil
- 1 tbsp agave nectar
- 12 egg whites
- 1.5 cup skim milk
- cup frozen blueberries
Makes 18 3″ pancakes.
- pre-cook quinoa
- mix dry ingredients add dry spices to taste (we used cinnamon and nutmeg)
- mix wet ingredients
- add wet to dry and mix thoroughly
- let stand
- make pancakes and enjoy
Super yummy! Enjoy!!!

CANCELLED: Cirque Du Soleil Tickets Raffle
Posted on Feb 25, 2011 under etc..., fitness | Comments are offSince I’ve had 0 (zero, zip, nada) interest in the Cirque raffle, I’m cancelling it.
🙁 Oh well.
My HornetJuice starter pack arrived yesterday.
Today I started testing. Drank HJ for my morning 1.5 hour ride and also for my evening 1:15 run. I’m going to use it exclusively for the next week to see if I can perceive any notable difference in my performance, recovery or body-fat composition.
More to come. Stay tuned.

Fridays have seemingly turned into my L(S)D swim days. Constant pace, focused on efficiency. I eat a Gel before I leave for the pool and another 50 minutes into the swim. Both for nutrition and for gut-happiness-testing. Once I do the 2nd gel I commit myself to finish 2 hrs.
Got a chuckle this morning that I’m swimming more distance (on each swim day, but esp on Fridays) than once I could run without a walk-break.
There’s an awesome thought to start your day with, eh? 😉
Make your day a great one!
You know, I really felt that I had a good shot at the @racermate #computrainer (see I’m still flogging the brand):
- I have a good and compelling story
- I make solid use of social media
- I train hard and my training is publicly visible on my blog and on dailymile
I can honestly say, I don’t get it. I’m happy for the winner, congratulations to Maria, but having looked at her blog and her dailymile stats, I’m perplexed. I don’t want to sound like a bitter loser, but I definitely feel that way. *sigh*
On a different note, over the last few weeks I started seriously looking at power meters, and while I think that the computrainer is a great device able to provide you a lot of information on your cycling while on a trainer in you workout room, they fall down as soon as the weather improves and you want to be on the roads.
For consistent training data, you probably want to look more to an on-board power meter, like the Cyclops Powertap or some of the units built into the crank arms. Of course, if you have multiple bikes and/or multiple wheelsets this can get very spendy, very quickly. Still deals are to be had on ebay, craigslist and the like.
So, now that I’m an official loser, I’ll turn my attention to deal-finding-mode and content myself with Spinervals, Sufferfest, IM Kona, and other PVR’d tv shows.
